I have been late to work several times lately. On Friday I formally got in trouble for being late (written up).
On Saturday I woke up 2 hours after I was supposed to be at work! (I set 3 alarm clocks, didn't stay up too late the night before.) So I decided that it would be better not to go in at all (';no call, no show';) than to get another write-up for being late the very next day.
Now, it seems like that was a pretty stupid idea. But what's done is done. Should I just go in there tomorrow & tell my boss basically what I just wrote here, suggest he write me up & get it over with so we can just get back to business? Should I make up an excuse/lie? When he asks what happened, just say ';I didn't come to work. It won't happen again';?
Addt'l info: I have worked here for a LONG time & NEVER played hooky or called in ';sick'; when I wasn't. I am looking for a new job.
